scienceXart: spot the maths competition
The Australian Academy of Science's National Committee for Mathematical Sciences is hosting scienceXart: spot the maths, a photographic competition for school students of all ages. The competition celebrates mathematics and its prominence in science and society.

Teachers are encouraged to engage their primary and secondary school students through creativity and the fun of maths.
Submissions are open during Term 3 2020 (28 June–25 September) with entry categories for all school levels. Prizes will be awarded for individuals and their class for first and second place, and one individual will win a special prize pack curated and supported by the Statistical Society of Australia.

Students have until September 25 to photograph the maths in their lives, describe the mathematics they have spotted, and submit to win incredible prizes!

A collaboration with reSolve and supported by the Australian Mathematical Society and the Statistical Society of Australia, this initiative is part of the Academy's celebration of the International Mathematical Union's Centennial.

The reSolve team has developed a suite of resources to support at-home or in-class implementation, including lesson plans and curriculum links—all downloadable from the competition website.
